Changia was named by Sun (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep Sepkoski's reference number: 464]. It is not extant. Its type is Changia chinensis.

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ptychaspididae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
