Taxonomy
Sialidopsis similis was named by Martynov (1937). Its type specimen is PIN 100/11, a hindwing (incomplete hindwing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Kargala, Dmitrievski waste (PIN collection 100), which is in a Capitanian terrestrial mudstone in the Amanak Formation of the Russian Federation.
