Taxonomy
Pseudodielasma perplexa was named by Brill (1940). Its type specimen is YPM 15278 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Naco Butte, Hall County (Dozier Lens, Newell 9, Roth 361-C), which is in a Capitanian shallow subtidal dolomite in the Whitehorse Formation of Texas.
