Taxonomy
Dikelocephalus was named by Owen (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-l O Trem-u Sepkoski's reference number: 379]. It is not extant. Its type is Dikelocephalus minnesotensis.

It was assigned to Trilobita by Walcott (1912); to Dikelocephaliidae by Hughes (1994); to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dikelocephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2003).
