Taxonomy
Stylothalamia eleganta was named by Rigby et al. (1994). Its type specimen is ZYD-17 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is ZYD17, Ziyundong, Ziyun County, which is in a Wordian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Ziyundong Formation of China.
