Taxonomy
Metacoceras parartiense was named by Ruzhentsev and Shimanskiy (1954). Its type specimen is PIN 626/105, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kurash River, left tributary of Kialy-Burti River, which is in an Artinskian marine sandstone in the Russian Federation.
