Taxonomy
Hemiliroceras zhiltauense was named by Ruzhentsev and Shimanskiy (1954). Its type specimen is PIN 626/47 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhil-Tau Hill, Aktyubinsk Region, which is in an Artinskian marine dolomite in the Baigendzhi Formation of Kazakhstan.
