Taxonomy
Dentoceras ultuganense was named by Ruzhentsev and Shimanskiy (1954). Its type specimen is PIN 442/12179 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ultugan-Say Gully, Sterlitamakian, Aktasty River, which is in a Sakmarian marine sandstone in Kazakhstan.
