Euomphalus (Straparollus) ophirensis was named by Hall and Whitfield (1877). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Straparollus ophirensis by Girty (1912) and Girty (1927); it was recombined as Straparollus (Straparollus) ophirensis by Yochelson (1962).
