Hungioides was named by Kobayashi (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-l O Llvi]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Dikelokephalinidae by Harrington et al. (1959); to Hungaiidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002).
