It was assigned to Dikelocephalidae by Özdikmen (2006).

Iranella was named by Hupe (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm u]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Maladioidella by Shergold and Sdzuy (1984) and Jell and Adrain (2002); it was misspelled as Irannella by Sepkoski (2002); it was replaced with Neoiranella by Özdikmen (2006).

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002).
