Dielasma elongatum

Rhynchonellata - Terebratulida - Dielasmatidae

Terebratulites elongatus was named by von Schlotheim (1816). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Glücksbrunn, Thuringen, which is in a Wuchiapingian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Zechstein Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Terebratula elongata by von Buch (1835), de Verneuil (1845), Keyserling (1846), Howse (1848), Howse (1857), Davidson (1858) and Geinitz (1861); it was recombined as Epithyris elongata by King (1850); it was recombined as Dielasma elongatum by Waagen (1882), Tschernyschew (1902), Dunbar (1955), Stehli (1956), Lee and Gu (1980), Li et al. (1986) and Zhan (1989); it was misspelled as Dielasma elongata by Angiolini and Carabelli (2010).
