Taxonomy
Productus pseudomedusa was named by Tschernyschew (1902). It is the type species of Urushtenia.

It was recombined as Urushtenia pseudomedusa by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960), Sarycheva and Grunt (1969) and Glushenko (1975).
