Maladioidella was named by Endo (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-u Cm Trep Sepkoski's reference number: 16]. It is not extant. Its type is Maladioidella splendens.

It was assigned to Idahoiidae by Shergold (1980) and Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002).
