Macrotermes pristinus
Taxonomy
Termes pristinus was named by Charpentier (1843). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.
It was recombined as Termes (Eutermes) pristinus by Heer (1849); it was considered a nomen dubium by Nel and Paicheler (1993); it was recombined as Macrotermes pristinus by Snyder (1949), Burnham (1978) and Krishna et al. (2013).
