Taxonomy
Liometopum antiquum was named by Mayr (1867). It is an impression. Its type locality is Radoboj (Geologischen Bundesanstalt Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.
It was recombined as Emplastus antiquus by Dlussky and Putyatina (2014).
