Taxonomy
Permipsythone panfilovi was named by Pinto and de Ornellas (1980). Its type specimen is UFRGS MP-I-5260, a wing (incomplete wing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Road Cut on Road BR 290 near Minas do Leao, which is in a Kungurian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Irati Formation of Brazil.
