Nileoides was named by Raymond (1920) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde-u Sepkoski's reference number: 795]. It is not extant. Its type is Nileus perkinsi.

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Asaphidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
