Taxonomy
Prohemerobius aldertonensis was named by Whalley (1988). Its type specimen is NHM I 11304, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Alderton Hill Quarry (Brodie collection), which is in a Toarcian marine limestone in the United Kingdom.
