Medlicottia orbignyana

Taxonomy
Goniatites orbignyanus was named by de Verneuil (1845). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kachkabache Mountain, near Artinsk, which is in an Artinskian marine sandstone in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Medlicottia orbignyi by Tchernow (1907); it was recombined as Medlicottia orbignyana by Karpinsky (1889), Tumanskaya (1939), Ruzhentsev (1956), Nassichuk (1970), Leonova (2002), Zhou and Yang (2005) and Zhou (2017).
