Conocephalella capito

Taxonomy
Conocephalus capito was named by Deichmüller (1886). Its type specimen is NHM In 36201, an exoskeleton (complete specimen with four wings in contact with body), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Solnhofen (BMNH collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Conocephalites capito by Handlirsch (1906), Carpenter (1932) and Zeuner (1937); it was recombined as Conocephalella capito by Zeuner (1942) and Zessin (1983).
