Taxonomy
Archimylacris parallelum was named by Scudder (1879). It is an impression. Its type locality is Cannelton, Vein C, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the Llewellyn Formation of Pennsylvania.
It was corrected as Archimylacris parallela by Scudder (1895); it was recombined as Plagioblatta parallela by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1920), Handlirsch (1922) and Durden (1984).
