Adelophthalmus granosus

Taxonomy
Adelophthalmus (Eurypterus) granosus was named by von Meyer (1853). Its type specimen is Mus. f. Naturk. Berlin, K 29, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Railroad cutting at Jägersfreude, which is in a Westphalian C terrestrial siltstone in the Saarbrucken’schen Kohlengebirges Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Adelophthalmus, Polyzosterites.

It was recombined as Polyzosterites granosus by Goldenberg (1873) and Scudder (1879); it was recombined as Adelophthalmus granosus by Kjellesvig-Waering (1958), Tetlie and Dunlop (2005) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
