Taxonomy
Iberomosca ponomarenkoi was named by Mostovski and Martínez-Delclòs (2000). Its type specimen is PIN 3559/3786, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bon Tsagaan (PIN collection 3559, outcrop 35), which is in an Aptian lacustrine siliciclastic in the Dzun-Bain Formation of Mongolia.
