Pseudohysterolenus was named by Harrington and Leanza (1957) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-l]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ceratopygidae by Harrington and Leanza (1957) and Jell and Adrain (2003).
