Taxonomy
Bittacopanorpa javorskii was named by Zalessky (1935). It is an impression. Its type locality is Babii Kamen (Javorsky collection), which is in a Griesbachian terrestrial shale in the Maltsevo Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Mesopsyche javorskii by Bashkuev (2011) and Lin et al. (2016).
