Taxonomy
Mesolyda sibirica was named by Rasnitsyn (1983). Its type specimen is PIN 3059/385, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Uda River (PIN collection 3059), which is in an Oxfordian/Kimmeridgian terrestrial horizon in the Uda Formation of the Russian Federation.
