Taxonomy
Pompilus induratus was named by Heer (1849). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Oeningen (Carlsruhe collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Pompilites induratus by Rodriguez et al. (2017).
