Taxonomy
Rostranteris ovaleformis was named by Smirnova (2001). Its type specimen is PIN 4104/1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gundara River, Gundara-Charymdara Saddle, Locality 1160, which is in a Kungurian marine horizon in the Gundara Formation of Tajikistan.
