Taxonomy
Plesioperleidus dayeensis was named by Su and Li (1983). Its type specimen is Hunan Geology Museum T 057/3-1, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huangshi, which is in a Smithian marine lime mudstone in the Daye Formation of China.
