Taxonomy
Baleyopteryx altera was named by Sinichenkova (1985). Its type specimen is PIN 1256/73, a nymph (almost complete larva), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Krasnoyarsk (PIN collection 1256), which is in a Toarcian fluvial horizon in the Makarova Formation of the Russian Federation.
