Taxonomy
Plutopteryx beata was named by Sinichenkova (1985). Its type specimen is PIN 4023/11, an exoskeleton (complete male), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bayan Teg Coal Quarry (PIN collection 4023), which is in a Bajocian/Bathonian pond claystone in Mongolia. It is the type species of Plutopteryx.
