Davidsmithia suni
Taxonomy
Protenthredo suni was named by Hong (1982). Its type specimen is P19-1 WM1006, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lihaogou, Xiaoyutai, Ulanqab, which is in an Aptian terrestrial horizon in the Huliugou Formation of China. It is the type species of Davidsmithia, Protenthredo.
It was recombined as Davidsmithia suni by Pagliano and Scaramozzino (1990), Nel et al. (2004) and Taeger et al. (2010).
