Paleopterocalla superba
Taxonomy
Pterocalla superba was named by Panfilov (1980). Its type specimen is PIN 2239/1683, a forewing (well preserved wing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Karatau-Mikhailovka (PIN collection 2239), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Pterocalla, Paleopterocalla.
It was recombined as Paleopterocalla superba by Oswald (2007).
