Acerocarina was named by Poulson (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep O Trem Sepkoski's reference number: 81]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Pelturinae by Harrington and Leanza (1957); to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Olenidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).

Synonyms
  • Cyclognathus was named by Linnarsson (1875).

    It was replaced with Acerocarina by Poulsen (1952).
