Tricarilda toddi

Discussion

Diagnosis. Protoconch distinctly protruding, with radial wrinkles on both sides; early teleoconch with keel at middle primary spiral rib; whorl face more or less convex in later teleoconch whorls; relatively early, a secondary spiral rib is intercalated between adapical and middle primary spiral ribs; additional spiral ribs appear during ontogeny; early teleoconch with few axial ribs; later whorls with axial ornament of enhanced growth lines.

Taxonomy
Tricarilda toddi was named by Gründel et al. (2011). Its type specimen is MG 1421 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Thorncombe Sands, Dorset, which is in a Margaritatus marine horizon in the Beacon Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
