Taxonomy
Hammephemera pulchra was named by Sinitshenkova (2011). Its type specimen is SMTE 5825/2-365, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Herolds mountain, upper Dendriten-Schichten, N Hammelburg, which is in a Bithynian marine shale in the Röt Formation of Germany.
