Picnotreta karakichiensis was named by Holmer et al. (2001). It is not extant. Its type locality is Moldotau Range, Karakichi River, which is in a Mayan/Furongian marginal marine siliciclastic in the Karadzhorga Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
