Megalneusaurus rex

Taxonomy
Cimoliosaurus rex was named by Knight (1895). Its type specimen is UW 4602, a set of limb elements (propodial and two sets of articulated epipodials with other elements), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gas Hills area 70km west of Casper (Megalneusaurus rex type locality), which is in an Oxfordian marine sandstone in the Sundance Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Megalneusaurus.

It was recombined as Megalneusaurus rex by Knight (1898), Knight (1899), Hay (1902), Hay (1930) and Wahl et al. (2007).
