Gobiates dzhyrakudukensis

Taxonomy
Gobiates dzhyrakudukensis was named by Ročec and Nessov (1993). Its type specimen is LU-N6/341, a maxilla (posterior part of the maxilla with the postorbital process broken off), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CBI-14, Dzharakuduk II, which is in a Turonian/Turonian fluvial sandstone/conglomerate in the Bissekty Formation of Uzbekistan.

Roček 2008(1) Processus zygomaticomaxillaris maxillae prominent above the level of margo orbitalis, its posterior margin vertical (hence the posterior part of the bone which articulates with quadratojugal is slender); (2) tooth row terminates at the level of the posterior end of the lamina horizontalis maxillae; and (3) margo orbitalis maxillae paralleled on the inner surface by a rounded ridge delimiting dorsally the groove for the palatoquadrate bar.
