Taxonomy
Gruntelasma disciformis was named by Smirnova (2007). Its type specimen is PIN 4898/2539, a shell (complete shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kamyshla Village, Sok River (PIN collection), which is in a Roadian marine marl/limestone in the Kazan Formation of the Russian Federation.
