Taxonomy
Gastornis minor was named by Lemoine (1878). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Remiornis minor by Lydekker (1891), Lambrecht (1933) and Houde (1988); it was synonymized subjectively with Remiornis heberti by Martin (1992).
