Taxonomy
Heintzella davydovi was named by Stevens (2008). Its type specimen is USNM 531322 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SJS-1271, Ninemile Canyon, Pequop Mountains, which is in an Asselian carbonate limestone in the Riepe Spring Formation of Nevada.
