Taxonomy
Metaindocrinus cooperi was named by Strimple (1966). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hess Canyon block (SUI), which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in the Word Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Metaindocrinus.
