Pteromixanum purbeckianum
Taxonomy
Mesotrichopteridium purbeckianum was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is NHM I 3968, a forewing (forewing missing base), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Middle Purbeck, Swanage (Brodie collection), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Durlston Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Paratrichopteridium purbeckianum by Jarzembowski (1995); it was recombined as Pteromixanum purbeckianum by Sukatsheva and Jarzembowski (2001) and Zhang et al. (2017).
