Taxonomy
Poikilosakos kamiyassensis was named by Tazawa and Takaizumi (1987). Its type specimen is IGPS 99010 and is a mold. Its type locality is KF212, Matashirosawa Valley, Shigejisawa Valley, Kamiyasse, Miyagi Prefecture, which is in a Roadian offshore shale in the Hoso-o Formation of Japan.
