Taxonomy
Waagenoconcha asiatica was named by Zavodowsky (1968). Its type specimen is TsGM 108-112/8234 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Popovka River, Shirokiy Creek, tuffaceous sandstone, Kolyma Basin, which is in an Asselian marine sandstone in the Bugali Formation of the Russian Federation.
