Taxonomy
Chonetinella iwakiensis was named by Tazawa (2008). Its type specimen is NU-B1143, a valve (Ventral valve, external mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is G2-zawa Valley, T7, Takakura-yama Mountain, Iwaki City, which is in a Capitanian marine shale in the Takakurayama Formation of Japan.
