Taxonomy
Cratonerthra estevezae was named by López Ruf and Goodwyn (2005). Its type specimen is SMNS 65416, an exoskeleton (complete body), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (SMNS collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
