Bergeroniaspis was named by Lermontova (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto-l Cm Boto-u Sepkoski's reference number: 462,471]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ellipsocephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
